Subaru Crosstrek tops Insurify list of most crash-prone cars

Of all the newer vehicles driving around New Hampshire and across the U.S., the Subaru Crosstrek is the most accident-prone. Insurify, the auto insurance comparison site, has come out with a list of 10 vehicles that are involved in the most accidents, and a report states that accidents have affected 25.81% of all Crosstrek models on the road. At 25.7%, the Honda HR-V was a close second.

Interestingly, the 2019 Crosstrek achieved the highest safety rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. This is reflected in the fact that the majority of accidents end in minor injuries for drivers and passengers of the Crosstrek. The vehicle’s affordable price and great fuel economy are other positives.

The Insurify list continues with the Hyundai Elantra GT, Infiniti Q50 and Subaru WRX. This latter vehicle, the second Subaru vehicle on the list, is notorious for having the highest proportion of speeding offenses. Vehicles six to eight are the Mazda3, Acura ILX and Lexus CT. The sole American vehicle on the list, the Chevrolet Trax, made number nine. A second vehicle from Hyundai, the Santa Fe Sport, ends the list.

Car accidents impacted 13.64% of these 10 vehicles overall. Nine of the vehicles were imports with seven from Japan and two made in Korea.

Of course, it is not a vehicle that causes a crash but the driver who does. When a negligent driver causes a motor vehicle accident, those who are injured may be able to file a third-party insurance claim. If their vehicle was a newer model, they may achieve a higher settlement. A claim might also cover medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and other applicable losses. Before filing, though, victims may want to talk to a lawyer because the other side may fight the claim.
